World Trade Center Deal Reached
WE DID IT! On March 9th, Local 12 joined thousands of Local 12 was there!trade unions in the NYC Building Trades Council at a rally at the World Trade Center project. We are happy to report that World Trade Center developer Larry Silverstein & government agencies have reached a deal to resolve a 16-month stalemate over rebuilding at ground zero. The arrangement was announced by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey following a board meeting earlier today. We would like to thank all the Local 12 members, the politicians and our allies in the community who rallied with the Trades Council at this important rally. We firmly believe we made a difference. It is because of all of us working together that this project will continue and it will help define a generation of New Yorkers for years to come. Congratulations and good work.
